9th Grade Physics First and 8th Grade General Science
Observation:
This week in class was a little different because I didn't observe my cp in the middle school I observed a different
8th grade teacher. Its funny though there is a certain similarity of how all the teachers I have ever observed close the class.
They all make sure that the students have gotten been told was is expected of them for next class. Next they will make sure that the class is clean and that all things that need to be put away are away. Lastly they try and get all the students to return to their seats and again remind them what they might need for that evenings homework. One thing that I think sets a good teacher apart is really wrapping up a lesson though. A couple of the teachers including both my cp's always try to emphasize the important points they are trying to get across in that days lesson. I feel like this is extremely important especially when there is a lesson which has a lot of information in it and not all of it is essential to the student.
Reflection:
In my classroom I would definitely like to wrap every class up with a couple minutes to do a quick overview of important material that has been covered during the day just to drive those points home. Also there always needs to be time for the students to be able to clean up whether its getting their things organized to make sure they have everything or to clean up materials from an experiment. Lastly there should be very little time left over where the students have nothing to do. This happens in the high school class sometimes and I feel like it's because of the long period. They sit for ten or fifteen minutes to do nothing which spells recipe for disaster. When the kids have no
